Screen Printing

Our Most Popular Technique

Screenprinting is what comes to mind for most people when they think of custom tee shirts or apparel.

It’s a highly versatile technique that can be adapted to most project needs, and it’s our default recommendation unless a customer has a specific technique in mind or has a design with many colors.

Is Screenprinting the Right Choice?

Let's compare pros and cons for the popular printing process:

Pros of Screenprinting

Cost-effective at scale

Can be applied to many print locations

Compatible with most materials

Cons of Screenprinting

Expensive for very small runs (under a dozen units)

Limited to 4-5 colors max for small runs, though larger runs (48+ units) can go up to 7 colors

Can’t be used on a handful of less common materials

It's worth mentioning that there are techniques to get around some of the limitations of screenprinting for smaller runs, like using halftones to diffuse and mix colors.
